The Lexus SC is a luxury coupe first launched in 1991. It seats four passengers and has rear wheel drive and front engine. The first Lexus SC, the SC 400 was produced in 2000 and the second generation, the SC 430, followed suit the following year. The SC 430 has V8 engine and hardtop convertible design. The third generation SC had some of the components of its predecessors, which was generally based from the Toyota Soarer, but also has new innovative features.
The 2008 Lexus SC has 4.3 liter V8 engine which gives it 288 hp at 5,600 rpm and 317 lb/ft of torque at 3,400 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.8 seconds, has a top track speed of 149 (electronically limited), 1/4-Mile Acceleration of 14.3 sec and Aerodynamic Drag Coefficient of 0.31. It has six-speed sequential-shift automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), electronic Traction Control (TRAC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). For the suspension, it has front coil springs, gas-filled shock absorbers, high-mount upper arm, stabilizer bar and rear coil springs, gas-filled shock absorbers, stabilizer bar, strut rod. For the brakes, it has four-sensor, four-channel (integrated with VSC) Anti-lock braking (ABS), Brake Assist, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), 11.7 in ventilated front discs and 12.1 in solid rear disc brakes.
Lexus SC comes in four-passenger retractable hardtop luxury convertible, two door variant. It has 18-in five-spoke aluminum alloy rim type or the optional 18-in five-spoke aluminum alloy with Liquid Graphite finish, 18-in G-Spider aluminum alloy and 18-in Machined Tourmaline aluminum alloy rim types. It has a wheel size of 18 x 8.0 in and standard 245/40R18 Z-rated summer tires or the optional 245/40R18 V-rated summer run-flat tires and 245/40R18 V-rated all-season run-flat tires.
