Wide range of engine applications including 545i and 530i from 2004, the V8 engine in the 545i BMW utilized the same engine well know in the BMW 7. In 2006 BMW introduced the 550i and 525i in the market and with the 2007 model year the 3.0 twin turbo became available as 535i. Both sedan and touring platforms are available the touring’s model number being E61.With the 2006 model year finally after years of waiting BMW released the new E60 M5 .2007 model year BMW gave a face lift to the by new 4 years old 5 series, with slight interior and exterior changes.
Driving impressions:The BMW E60 5 series is one of the best midsize luxury sedans you can buy, no matter what engine you buying let it be the straight six powered 530i or the V8 in the 545i or 550i. BMW pulled of the impossible when designed the new 5 series , even though they made the car longer and slightly heavier these vehicles just simply handle like no other , brakes are awesome with no sign of fading. The 530i s smaller weight enables it to be exceptionally nimble, however the little extra with the V8 like the 545i won’t throw off the vehicles balance either, the V8s are simply awesome with great sound and butter smooth power delivery. Gas mileage is excellent on the 525i and 530i the 545i and 550i although a little more thirstier still pretty good on fuel consumption considering you driving a 300+ horsepower luxury sedan that will spank many “sport cars” sold by other companies.
Features to look for: In my opinion sports package is a must and the heads up display is a great feature and will allow you an easier sale down the road since it’s rare.
