A4 B7 Spacifications & Information

Audi A4 B7, based on the B7 platform, was launched in 2004. Compared with its predecessor, the A4 B6, the B7 had more innovative features and additions. The 2.0 TFSI engine had an increased power output of 200 PS (147 kW) and the 3.2 V6 FSI gasoline engine had an increased output of 255 PS (188 kW). Both were made possible with the introduction of the Fuel Stratified Injection, which had four-valve per cylinder design, on the new A4 B7 models. Before this four-valve cylinder design, the five-valve per cylinder cannot be used with the FSI direction system. The 2.0 TDI diesel engine was upgraded and now had the Pumpe Düse (PD) technology. The 2.5 TDI had also an increase output of 204 PS (150 kW) with the new 3.0 liter engine.

The RS4, Renn Sport 4, was added to the line up of the A4 B7 saloon and cabriolet variants. The new RS4 had 4.2 V8 FSI naturally aspirated engine. The next generation of the Quattro all wheel drive system was also introduced. This third generation Quattro has 40:60 torque distribution. The limited edition variant, DTM Edition, which was first seen in 2005, was again re-launched in 2006 as an option in the line up of the B7. The re-launched model of the DMT Edition has 2.0 TFSI engine which has an increased power output of 220 PS (162 kW) and comes standard with the Quattro system. As to the design, the front grille had the same trapezoidal shape, similar with the Audi A6. In February of 2006, the Cabriolet model released to the market. This new Cabriolet model had 2.0 TDI engine but did not have the Multitronic gearbox.

The Quattro all wheel drive system of Audi remained a standard in most A4 B7 models. At the same time, the 5-speed manual transmission was phased out and was replaced by the new 6-speed transmission. For the front wheel drive models, the Multitronic transmission is standard; while for the four wheel drive models, the Tiptronic 6-speed transmission is offered. Other standard features of the Audi A4 B7 include side airbags, Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP), anti-lock brakes (ABS), and of course the Quattro four-wheel drive system.

The B5 was replaced in 2007 by the new B8 Audi A4
